On Thursday, September 17, 2015, New York City’s Dag Hammarskjold Plaza Park will host a special event that will benefit The Tulip Foundation. From 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm, attendees will join together at this world-class park located on East 47th Street between UN Plaza and 2nd Avenue in Manhattan, to experience aMongolian culture-themedbusiness networking event. The evening will feature yurts, a Mongolian red carpet fashion show, live Mongolian music, dancing, networking opportunities, and much more. Free and open to the public, this unique event will be a festive way to celebrate the Mongolian culture while benefiting a commendable and admirable organization while networking.
The Tulip Foundation provides a clearinghouse for information, both local and international, about the Kalmyk-Mongolianculture and heritage. It exists to reinforce the Kalmyk-Mongolian identity and to promote understanding and education among all peoples about the Kalmyk-Mongolian struggle. It is estimated that between 1,000 and 3,000 Kalmyks live in the United States today. Located in Rutherford, New Jersey, the Tulip Foundation strives to create opportunities for thoughtful collaborative action aimed at preserving the Kalmyk-Mongolian heritage here in the United States and abroad.
