The Metropolitan Opera Guild, publisher of OPERA NEWS and the world’s premier arts education organization dedicated to enriching people’s lives through opera, will hold its annual The Opera Stage Director’s Point of View lecture series hosted by notable stage director Jay Lesenger. With almost 40 years in the field, and more than 200 productions in the U.S. and abroad, Lesenger will discuss the history and emergence of stage directors in opera and chart his own career path. Attendees will learn the secrets and hear behind-the-scenes stories of a career staging opera.
