Uri Vardi is recognized as a highly accomplished musician, Professor of Cello at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and dedicated Feldenkrais Practitioner. He will present The Feldenkrais Method for Musicians on Saturday, August 29 from 10am-5pm and Sunday, August 20 from 10am-4pm. This workshop will be inspiring on many levels, and both physically and psychologically therapeutic. It is open to all Feldenkrais Practitioners and to musicians who play any instrument, at any level.
With over 40 years of teaching experience, Professor Vardi has come to believe that not one, but two instruments are engaged when music is played. The first instrument is, of course, the musician’s cello, piano, flute, or other choice. The second instrument is the musician’s own intricately tuned body and mind. In his work with students all over the world, Mr. Vardi has found that when these two instruments are able to interact harmoniously, dramatic improvements in expression, sound, comfort and skill, can take place. The Feldenkrais Method can help every musician to develop a greater harmony between themselves, and their instrument.
