We hope that you will join us to celebrate supportive housing on Thursday, October 13th, 6-9 pm at Capitale, 130 Bowery, New York City.
This is an historic moment for the supportive housing world: since last year’s Gala, the Mayor and Governor have promised to create 35,000 new units of supportive housing in the next fifteen years, in large part due to our community’s advocacy! These commitments essentially double our current stock statewide and fund the next generation of supportive housing. In light of these extraordinary successes, there is no better time to honor the Founders of the Supportive Housing Movement, the women and men who first imagined and created supportive housing and whose work provided the cornerstone on which our community has collectively created 50,000 units statewide.
The Network is also thrilled to honor Alembic Community Development as our Private Sector Partner of the Year. Created in 2005, Alembic has already worked with nearly a dozen Network members in various capacities, including helping nonprofits develop more than 500 units of supportive housing. The company’s dedication to “equitable joint venture partnerships with nonprofit organizations for the development of quality affordable and supportive housing projects” perfectly embodies the type of private sector partner our community needs to develop the tens of thousands of supportive housing units promised by the Mayor and Governor over the next fifteen years.
And, as always, we look forward to the special recognition of Outstanding Tenants and Residences of the Year!
