Structures of Coastal Resilience (SCR), a Rockefeller Foundation-supported project dedicated to studying and proposing resilient designs for urban coastal environments, will unveil on Thursday evening a comprehensive resiliency plan for the Jamaica Bay watershed on the south shore of Long Island. The Jamaica Bay proposal on display Thursday is one of four North Atlantic region coastal resiliency design projects taken on by SCR in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. Each of the projects represents collaborations between leading climate scientists, engineers, designers, and scholars.
The opening reception will be held on Thursday evening from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and light refreshments will be served. The exhibit will be open for viewing Friday, March 13 through Sunday, March 15.
