Breast cancer survivors and their doctors are teaming up with fashion designers in a rapidly growing annual, collaborative effort to ensure all patients – regardless of income or means – can obtain high-quality care. Pink Runway, an inspiring high fashion show and auction, sponsored by Revlon, the Brooklyn Nets and the NY Islanders, will take place at the premiere Marquee club on Wednesday, November 30 at 7pm in Manhattan.
Survivors and doctors will walk the runway together, showcasing the latest fashion designers whose works will be raffled off following the show. Complimentary cocktails and food will be provided as well. All proceeds will benefit the Maimonides Breast Cancer Center, which is ranked among the top 5% of center in the nation and is the only breast cancer center in Brooklyn. Dr. Patrick Borgen, Chair of Surgery, founded the Maimonides Breast Center in 2006, because women in Brooklyn had no Brooklyn-based options for breast cancer screenings, treatment or care. He will be honored for his 10 years of leadership.
