The 14th Street Y through Downtown Jewish Life presents, PAUSE/PLAY, an innovative Saturday afternoon of Shabbat programming, on December 12, 2015 and continuing one Saturday per month through March 2016. Join us for recreational activities for adults and children at an event designed for our diverse Downtown Community at 344 East 14th Street.
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids under 18 and $30 Family Tickets when purchased in advance online. Day of ticketing is $15 for adults, $10 for kids under 18 and $40 family tickets. This fall and winter, rethink how you spend your Saturday afternoons: share it with your family, with others and with us. PAUSE/PLAY invites people to hit the pause button in their busy lives and experience the best of what the 14th Street Y has to offer.
You can stretch it out in Yoga or dive into Family Swim. Leave the kids in an engaging interactive music or science class while you explore Adult Meditation or study text with our own Executive Director Rabbi Shira Epstein. Children under 5 can enjoy PJ Play!, who presents Herschel and the Hanukkah Goblins with Play Me a Story. PJ Play! is funded by the PJ Library New York Metro Region Engagement Grant, awarded by the Harold Grinspoon Foundation.

Whiskey Tasting with Dan Friedman, Managing Editor of the Forward
Train your palate—do you prefer Single Malt, American Whiskey or perhaps a nice Rye? Join the adults in the kitchen as we taste new whiskeys and make a specialty cocktail.
Klezmer/Gypsy Chanukah Concert with Elad Kabilio: Dancing and Musical Instrument Petting Zoo
Join us for this Klezmer/Gypsy program, discover cool gypsy rhythms, and enjoy Klezmer music and dancing.
PJ Play! presents “Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins” with Play Me a Story
Explore the classic PJ Library book through music, story, and play! We invite young audiences (ages 5 and under) to Spark the magic of Hanukkah in an interactive musical storytelling performance of “Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins.” Children will act out the colorful characters with crafts and live, klezmer-style dance and songs. PJ Play! is a series of programs where young children and their families will engage in Jewish stories, traditions and rituals.
Chanukah Party (5pm): Enjoy a festive Chanukah celebration with music, snacks and drink. Artist Michal Nachmany will take us on a gallery tour. At 5:30, light the 7th Chanukah candle with Rabbi Shira Koch Epstein.
Also on December 12, 2015 the 14th Street Y through LABA: A Laboratory for Jewish Culture presents, Time Keepers: Story of the Loon, an original production written by Rachel Sherk with an original musical score by Aaron Rourk. The tale is about magical creatures that live inside of clocks. Featuring magic, stardust, chipmunks, loons and moons, the story is told through puppets and live music. Tickets to Time Keepers include admittance to PAUSE PLAY and are: $10.00 for children under 18, $15.00 for adults and $30 Family Tickets and are available at www.14streety.org/timekeepers or by calling 646-395-4310. Performances are on December 12th and 13th at 11am and 2pm.
