Put pencil to paper and relax with drinks on our elegant Fifth Avenue terrace, overlooking the Central Park Conservatory Gardens. Simon Levenson, professional artist and instructor of last year’s popular sold-out series, will guide you through the techniques of sketching, with each Tuesday session featuring a different theme in conjunction with new special exhibitions such as Hip-Hop Revolution: Photographs by Janette Beckman, Joe Conzo, and Martha Cooper and Folk City: New York and the Folk Music Revival. Focus on drawing landscape on July 14, sketch architectural details of the Museum’s landmark building on July 28, and learn how to sketch people on August 11. Open to participants ages 21 and up; includes two drinks (wine, beer, and soda will be served) and drawing materials for use during class time.
Reservations and pre-payment required. Reservations can be made at http://www.mcny.org/event/terrace-sketch-and-sip-0 or by calling 917-492-3492.
