Fireworks will light up the sky at the stroke of midnight to start off the 38th annual NYRR Midnight Run, a four-mile race held each year in the iconic Central Park. An expected 5,000 runners will gather in glittery running attire, eager to ring in the New Year in the most fit and fun way possible. Led by a talented professional athlete field, these runners will take their first steps into 2017 together as they set out to accomplish their first fitness goal of the year. All participants will be able to toast with family and friends at the sparkling cider fluid station halfway into the four-mile course.
#ResolveToRun back bibs will be distributed to runners prior to the race to those interested in sharing the reason they are running.
The pre- and post-race festivals at the Central Park Bandshell feature a high-energy party with music and dancing. The festivals are open to runners and their guests from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
The four mile race and firework show starts at midnight (12:00AM).
