NewYork-Presbyterian Queens will host a free event for members of the community to learn about antibiotics on Wednesday, March 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Flushing Library, 41-17 Main Street, Flushing, New York.
Lifesaving antibiotics can cure dangerous bacterial infections, but did you know that antibiotics do not help fight viruses? In fact, the overuse and misuse of antibiotics are among the many factors contributing to antibiotic resistance and unnecessary side effects. The “Understanding Antibiotics” lecture will provide an informative and interactive experience discussing when and when not to use antibiotics, highlighting real-life scenarios and the potential harms of misusing antibiotics.
Members of the Department of Antimicrobial Stewardship at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens, George D. Rodriguez, PharmD, Anna Kula, PA-C, Nathan Warren, PA-C and Bella Yushuvayev, PA-C, will be presenting.
