New Yorkers travel the globe to experience beautiful art, architecture, music and history. During The New York Landmarks Conservancy’s 8th Annual Sacred Sites Open House Weekend (May 5 & 6, 2018), hundreds of New York’s world-class houses of worship will open their doors to the public, giving visitors a glimpse inside remarkable religious institutions to view the artistic treasures of many faiths, styles, and periods.
This year’s theme, Sacred Sounds and Settings, will provide a backdrop for churches, synagogues, temples and meetinghouses to highlight their musical and performance activities. Participating sites will feature special guided tours, concerts, organ demonstrations as well as provide information on their cultural and social programs offered throughout the year.
