MODERN LOSS: CANDID CONVERSATION ABOUT GRIEF. BEGINNERS WELCOME.

May 23 @ 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm

| $10 - $15

How do we navigate a loss? How do we share the unspeakably taboo and unexpectedly beautiful terrain of grieving? Rebecca Soffer and Gabrielle Birkner, co-founders of the website Modern Loss, talk candidly about coping in the face of loss and how to connect with other people who “get” it. This program, co-sponsored by Green-Wood and Because Jewish, will NOT include tips to help you “get over it,” or the phrase, “everything happens for a reason.” Rebecca and Gabrielle will discuss their new book, Modern Loss: Candid Conversation about Grief. Beginners Welcome, which explores empathy, resilience, and the power of sharing our stories.

The conversation will be moderated by the co-founders of the Brooklyn-based organization Because Jewish, Rabbi Dan Ain and Alana Ain.

Light refreshments will be served.

This event is $15; $10 for members of The Green-Wood Historic Fund and members of the Brooklyn Historical Society. Reservations are recommended. If the event is not sold out, walk-ups will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. To make an online reservation or to find out more information, visit www.green-wood.com/toursevents or call 718-210-3080.
