In June the Mark Morris Dance Center hosts a special 4-week class for cancer patients and survivors. This 45-minute class focuses on increasing both stamina and strength while being mindful of the chronic side effects of cancer treatment. Make a PACT for Life!® is designed to enhance quality of life through exercise that complements medical care and focus on the mind, body and spirit.

ABOUT MAKE A PACT FOR LIFE!®
Make a PACT for Life!® is a place of wellness, where all persons touched by cancer may enhance their quality of life. PACT is designed to provide both newly diagnosed patients and long term survivors with tools to withstand the consequences of a cancer diagnosis and treatment. Taught by the creator of Make a PACT for Life! ®, Lisa Hoffman, M.A. C.E.S. is the Founder & Director of Solo Fitness & Wellness and an Exercise Physiologist, Modern Dancer and Cancer Exercise Specialist. Her book, The Healing Power of Movement: How to Benefit from Physical Activity During Your Cancer Treatment, was one of the first books highlighting the benefits of physical activity during cancer treatment.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Lisa Hoffman, M.A. created Make a PACT for Life!® to enable anyone who has ever had cancer to participate in a specialized physical activity program designed just for them. Hoffman also developed the PACT Specialist Training Workshop for fitness professionals to learn about cancer rehabilitation and how to best tailor programs to meet the needs of their clients. Hoffman is an exercise physiologist and the Founder and Director of Solo Fitness & Wellness in NYC. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Modern Dance from SUNY at Brockport and a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology from Columbia University. She has more than 25 years of experience in management, program development and strategic planning in the health & wellness industry. She is certified as a Cancer Exercise Specialist by the American College of Sports Medicine and American Cancer Society and teaches their 2-day Cancer Exercise Trainer course as well. Hoffman is the author of two books on exercise and her second one, The Healing Power of Movement: How to Benefit from Physical Activity During Your Cancer Treatment, focused on the importance of physical activity during cancer treatment. She is thrilled to Make a PACT for Life!® with The Mark Morris Dance Center this June!
ABOUT THE MARK MORRIS DANCE CENTER
The Mark Morris Dance Center in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, was built in 2001 and is a major cultural resource for the community. In addition to being the home of the Mark Morris Dance Group, the Dance Center offers a wide range of education and community programs to over 2,000 weekly visitors. It houses The School at the Mark Morris Dance Center, 7 fully-equipped studios that are available for rent, and many amenities including a large 140-seat studio theater, lounges, dressing rooms, and outdoor terraces.
