On Sunday, May 17, at 2:30 p.m., Jewish Home Lifecare will present a concert performed by Rabbi Andrew Hahn, the Kirtan Rabbi, in honor of Older Americans Month.
Rabbi Hahn, a well-known teacher and chant composer, comes to Jewish Home for an evening of sacred Kirtan call-and-response singing and devotional learning. Based on ancient mantras, Kirtan is participatory chanting where short, sacred phrases from the Jewish tradition are invoked as powerful, universal meditations.
The entire community is encouraged to join Jewish Home in chant and meditation that mixes the generations and celebrates older adults by acknowledging their contributions to America’s vibrant culture.
All are welcome. There is no need to know Hebrew or be Jewish in order to participate.
The event is free, but reservations are recommended by May 15th: firstname.lastname@example.org or 212-870-4663
