Fine wine purveyor Jean-Luc Le Dû returns to his restaurant roots with a June sommelier residency at Upper East Side’s authentic and sophisticated Rotisserie Georgette. Prior to opening his eponymous shop, Le Dû’s Wines, Jean-Luc was the Wine Director of Daniel where he was celebrated with a James Beard Award for Outstanding Wine Service. This June residency is an exciting partnership with Georgette Farkas, another celebrated alumnus of Restaurant Daniel.
Jean-Luc will bring the same passion and quality wines he shares at Le Dû’s Wines to Rotisserie Georgette as he takes over the by-the-glass program every Tuesday night in June. Each week will feature different wines rarely offered by the glass, spanning the globe. Pours will be priced $14-29, and all of the wines are available at Le Dû’s Wines shop. The focus is organic and biodynamic wines from small family producers, with such selections as a sparkling rosé from Domaine Tissot in the Jura, a Chardonnay from Au Bon Climat in Santa Barbara and a Rosso from Tenuta delle Terre Nere in Etna.
The grand finale will be a private dinner at the restaurant’s Chef’s Table on June 28 at 7PM, with Georgette’s summer season specialty of whole roasted wild salmon as the centerpiece. An exclusive four-course menu with special pairings—unique from the rest of the residency—will be offered for ten guests in a communal setting. Working in unison, Georgette will introduce each course and Jean-Luc the story behind each wine. The dinner, including wines, tax & gratuity, will be $325/person.
