On October 15th, Green-Wood once again opens its gates for a night of boundless discovery for Into the Veil. Illuminated by the brilliance of a full moon, attendees explore the cemetery’s expansive landscape, encountering performers and artistic installations along its many winding paths.
Guided by flashlights and a special map, guests stroll the moonlit cemetery at their own pace to discover engaging and entrancing experiences, including music and dance performances, aerial acrobatics, storytelling, an art installation and other activities as the night progresses. Cash bars will be available for refreshments. This immersive event is presented by Green-Wood and its frequent collaborator, Atlas Obscura, an organization that specializes in exploring “the world’s wondrous and curious places.”
This year guests have the opportunity to go even deeper into the veil with experiences available only to VIP ticket holders. Earlier in the evening, guides will lead guests to a rarely visited section of the cemetery before Into the Veil opens to the general public. Set within a secluded thicket of trees, specially selected musicians and players will give a private performance as guests enjoy complimentary drinks, curated exclusively for this VIP experience.
NOTE: This event is strictly for those 21 and older; I.D. required. Cocktail attire is encouraged as is sensible footwear. Keep in mind that the cemetery can get quite chilly at night. A flashlight is also strongly recommended.
