Medicine refers to the practice which is concerned with the maintenance of health as well as prevention, alleviation and cure of diseases. The WHO in its Alma-Ata Health Declaration in the year 1978 describes health as a state of full physical, mental as well as social well-being. It also reaffirmed that health is one of the fundamental human rights whose attainment is among the most critical social goals.

When writing a medicine term paper or research paper, the initial stage involves the Preparation and Planning process. This includes choosing a topic and conducting literature research. After this the Methodology part is worked on and strict adherence to conventional scientific methodology is required. This is followed by the process of writing the paper in a way that looks and feels like a research paper or term paper. The title should clearly tell and give accurate idea about the content as well as the methodology of the paper.

The abstract needs to be very well written and should demonstrate the main findings and the importance of the findings. The objectives should be stated in a concise manner. It is essential that the abstract includes all the necessary information but is brief. This is followed by an introduction and a description of the methods, variables and statistical analysis. The analysis is followed by a presentation of the results, discussion, conclusion and references sections. Each of these sections is of critical importance and have to be included in a research paper.

Good Medicine journals for taking information are:

1. New England Journal of Medicine
2. Annals of Internal Medicine
3. Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA)
4. Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ)
5. The Lancet
6. BMJ (previously British Medical Journal)

Medicine is based on the junction between the art of healing and the natural and physical sciences. The subject and the profession are heavily related to the health sciences, medical research, clinical medicine, as well as biomedicine and surgery. The profession and practice of medicine involves the process of combining science and art with clinical judgment on order to come up with good treatment plans for patients.

The Medical care delivery process can be divided into primary, secondary and tertiary care. Primary care medical services have to be given by physicians and other people like health professionals who come across the patient at the initial stage who is looking for medical treatment as well as care. Primary care can be provided in clinics, nursing homes, physician offices, schools as well as home visits. The vast majority of patients is fully treated at the primary care level and includes patients with acute as well as chronic illnesses, health education across age and gender and also preventive care.

Secondary care is given by specialists in medicine at their own clinics and offices. This can also be provided at local community hospitals. Typically, patients are referred to them by primary care services providers.

Tertiary care is given by specialist hospitals that have diagnostic as well as treatment facilities like trauma and burn treatment centers.
