The New Jewish Home’s fourth annual Himan Brown Symposium on Advances in Senior Health presents Joseph F. Coughlin, PhD, Founder and Director of MIT’s AgeLab, who will speak about technology and the future of aging. AgeLab was created in 1999 to “invent new ideas and translate technologies into practical solutions that improve people’s health and enable them to ‘do things’ throughout the lifespan.” Dr. Coughlin, whom The Wall Street Journal has called one of “12 pioneers inventing the future of retirement” and Fast Company named one of the 100 most creative people in business, does research on how demographic change, technology, social trends and consumer behavior drive innovations in business and government. He is the author of the online publication Disruptive Demographics, for which he has written essays that include “Will Robots Care for You in Old Age?” and “Designing Tomorrow’s Ageless Community.”
After his talk Dr. Coughlin will speak with The New Jewish Home’s president and CEO, Audrey Weiner. The program will conclude an audience Q&A. There will also be demonstrations by The New Jewish Home’s technology partners Jintronix and Bluestream Health.
