GCU New York welcomes Jeffrey Kalinksy, VP & fashion director at Nordstrom and Founder of Jeffrey Boutiques and celebrated fashion consultant Fern Mallis, for a conversation about Mr. Kalinksy’s journey creating boutique approaches to revitalizing neighborhoods, department stores and philanthropy.
As part of GCU New York’s innovative learning and teaching approach, the university launched a multi-part series of Town Hall meetings entitled Fashion Sharing Progress. Built around the industry’s efforts to effect change, these events feature presentations by thought leaders on fashion and sustainability, offer a space for conversation and debate, and provide the stimulus for action on issues such as sustainability and profit, ethical supply chains, and corporate social responsibility. The Town Hall environment brings different perspectives to bear on existing problems and help identify new solutions that will allow the business of fashion to continue to grow and contribute to the cultural and economic development of communities in a socially responsible way – while also helping GCU fulfill its ‘common good’ mission.
