Dec. 17. 11 am – 12:30 pm. FIELD TRIP To a (GREEN) PASSIVE HOUSE AF-FORDABLE MULTI-FAMILY BUILDING SITE. Site Visit/Field Trip to A (Green) Passive House Affordable Multi-Family Building. NY City Architect Chris Benedict, R.A., and Scott Short, Housing Director, Ridgewood Bushwick Senior Citizens Council, the developer, will walk us through the construction site of the Ridgewood Bushwick Senior Citizen Council’s 100% affordable housing development and explain the construction process in keeping with Passive House standards. We will also get a chance to under-stand up-close all the building systems, proper installation, maintenance & repair, including the Passive House (Green) aspects of the building envelope, mechanical, electrical, heating and heat recapture & redistribution, cooling and plumbing systems, orientation, etc. This class will meet promptly at 10:45 am at the site, Knickerbocker Commons, 803 Knickerbocker Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11207.
