This fall, bring the whole family for a memorable afternoon at FIAF! Our October Family Saturday is dedicated to every kid’s favorite topic—toys.
Between events, be sure to visit the Haskell Library’s vibrant Kids’ Corner to discover French books, comics, and magazines for all age levels.
Stop by the lobby to purchase French and English children’s books and delicious snacks. Nespresso will provide free coffee to parents.
Kids build their own unique Playmobil characters in this fun, interactive workshop about classic toys.
Led by French toy historian and author Dorothée Charles.
1:30pm: Screening: A Town Called Panic
This wildly imaginative animated film follows three toys—a cowboy, an Indian, and a horse—on a madcap adventure over the ocean, through the earth’s center, and beyond!
Following the screening, kids will enjoy an arts & crafts activity related to the film.
Dorothée Charles shows kids their parents’ and grandparents’ favorite toys. From Barbie and Mickey Mouse to Legos and Etch-A-Sketch, they will draw, imagine, and play with the iconic toys that have inspired generations of children.
9:30am – 4pm: Book Sale
Come and browse a great collection of French children’s books for all ages and levels by Albertine. Pick up the perfect book and continue your child’s French adventure at home!
There will be a special selection dedicated to toys including including Dorothée Charles’ books, Cult Toys of the Twentieth Century and Playmobil: Forty Years!
