Green-Wood will commemorate the 241st anniversary of one of the earliest and largest battles of the American Revolution with the annual Battle of Brooklyn trolley tour on Sunday, August 27th at 10 a.m. The tour of Green-Wood’s Revolutionary War-related sites will be led by Green-Wood historian Jeff Richman.
Fought on August 27, 1776 across Brooklyn, including land that is now part of Green-Wood Cemetery, the Battle of Brooklyn was the first battle of the American Revolution to be waged after the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Stops along the tour include Battle Hill and other sites important to the battle.
After the tour, join the commemoration activities on Green-Wood’s meadow and on Battle Hill.
Tickets sell out quickly! Reservations are strongly recommended. If the trolley tour is not sold out, walk-ups will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.
