GRAMMY AWARD-WINNERS LARRY CAMPBELL & TERESA WILLIAMS
TO PERFORM IN GREEN-WOOD’S HISTORIC CHAPEL
COVETED PERFORMANCE SPACE HAS HOSTED IN-THE-KNOW MUSICIANS FOR OVER A DECADE
On June 23, Green-Wood’s Historic Chapel will become a House of Blues with a performance by the powerhouse duo of singer-guitarists Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams. Opening the evening will be renowned guitarist Danny Kalb, founding member of the legendary Blues Project.
Three time Grammy Award-winning musician Larry Campbell, best known for his eight years with Bob Dylan, has played with Elvis Costello, Willie Nelson, and Levon Helm at his famous Midnight Rambles, to name just a few. Teresa, who met Larry when she was playing at the Bottom Line in the ‘90s, has sung with giants like Mavis Staples and Emmylou Harris. Danny Kalb will open the show with a set of smooth blues.
The concert will be staged in Green-Wood’s Historic Chapel – an insider’s secret of the New York music scene. Surrounded by huge stained glass windows, 20-foot ceilings and stunning gothic architecture, the chapel is an architectural and acoustic treasure. Just ask Ingrid Michaelson, St. Vincent, or Andrew Bird who’ve all played in this historic space.
Tickets sales benefit Green-Wood’s tours, programs, and events throughout the year. The concert is a tribute to Green-Wood “permanent resident” singer-songwriter Greg Trooper (1956-2017), who recorded more than a dozen albums and whose songs have been recorded by Steve Earle, Robert Earl Keen, Vince Gill and others.
COST: $100 per ticket. Reservations are recommended. If the concert is not sold out, walk-ups will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.
