CARTER BURDEN GALLERY ANNOUNCES NEW EXHIBITIONS BY RE-EMERGING OLDER ARTISTS
July 27, 2017 @ 11:00 am - August 17, 2017 @ 5:00 pmFree
Works by Anna H. Walter and Over 50 Other Incredible Artists on Exhibit July 27 – August 17
Two new exhibitions featuring the unique artwork of over 50 re-emerging older artists will be on display from July 27th to August 17th at the Carter Burden Gallery, located at 548 West 28th Street #534 in Manhattan. The Carter Burden Gallery showcases the vibrant, cutting-edge and transformative art that is the product of the unique cultural wealth possessed by older professional artists.
EXHIBITS: In a collective exhibit, the East and West Galleries present “12 x 12.” In this unique display, more than 50 artists used identical 12” x 12” canvases to present their chosen medium, including paintings, drawings, photographs, sculpture, and collages. The results demonstrate dramatically different points of view, highlighting each artist’s unique strengths. The pieces, accessible to first-time collectors, are all priced at $200.
In On the Wall, artist Anna H. Walter uses a variety of materials to create layered mixed media pieces and whimsical sculptures. Taking inspiration from the way birds seem worry-free, without fear, and have the ability to take flight, Walter uses a variety of materials, including found objects and invigorating color, to create pieces that transport the viewer to magical places. On the Wall explores the concept of “letting go,” in the context of the artist’s own physical trials, New York City, and the spiritual.
