ALLIANCE FOR NYC’S ANIMALS AND THE BROOKLYN CYCLONES INVITE YOU AND YOUR DOG TO THE BALLPARK FOR AN AFTERNOON OF FAMILY FUN
The Alliance for NYC’s Animals and the Brooklyn Cyclones are teaming up to bring you – and your dog – a great afternoon of family fun at “Bark in the Park” on Sunday, August 14, 2016 as the Cyclones take on the 2015 NYPL champions the West Virginia Black Bears at Municipal Credit Union Park. The fun starts at 2:00 p.m., the gates open at 2:30 p.m., and the first pitch will be thrown at 4:00 p.m.
Outside the stadium activities kick off at 2:00 p.m. with a mini pet adoption fair presented by Brooklyn’s own Sean Casey Animal Rescue showing dogs and cats on a North Shore Animal League America mobile adoption unit. Also onsite will be free photos-ops for pets and their people as well as free personalized pet tag giveaways. FreshPet, a leading brand in natural pet food and treats, will be handing out food and coupons. The NYC Department of Heath will be on hand for dog licensing and free rabies vaccinations, and NYC Emergency Management / Ready New York will offer important information on how to prepare you and your pets for emergencies.
Baseball fans and their dogs will “bark, bark, bark” for the home team in the bleacher seats where water will be provided for the canine companions – all to help raise awareness about the importance of pet adoption. Before the game starts, dogs and their owners will have a chance to go on the field and strut their stuff in the “parade of pooches.”
