Badass Women in History

March 15, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

NOW Celebrates Powerful Women!
Join us in a night that honors badass women who have been left out of the white-cis-patriarchal narrative of history. This event will celebrate women who have done something critical in their fields but have not been given space within the typical historical narrative. Come join us for a series of short, innovative presentations by local feminist activists, followed by a Q&A and reception. We promise you’ll leave with a few new feminist heroes that you might not have learned about in history class!
We Welcome Our Speakers:
Jenna Freedman – Zine and “activist” librarian at Barnard College’s Lehman Library.
Clara Yoon – Founder of the Asian Pacific Islander project at Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender People (PFLAG-NYC).
Chi-Ante Singletary – Member of Project Continua, a multimedia resource dedicated to the creation and preservation of women’s intellectual history.
