Alton Fitzgerald White, the charismatic, multi-talented singer/actor/dancer, and star of Broadway’s phenomenal, long-running, The Lion King will be the special guest of the ARTMakers series at the Harlem School of the Arts on Thursday, November 16 at 6:00 PM, 645 Saint Nicholas Avenue, NYC.
Mr. Fitzgerald recently added author, to his long list of credits, with the release of his new book – MY PRIDE, Mastering Life’s Daily Performances, which is now available on Amazon. The book’s positive message reinforces the idea that each of us can find a sense of purpose and happiness when we use our everyday achievements as a sense of pride and accomplishment. This will be among the many things Mr. Fitzgerald White will touch on, as he shares and discusses his own journey as a musical theatre, film and television actor, as well as a recording artist.
Alton Fitzgerald White has had an exceptional Broadway career, going from understudy to lead. Beginning with Miss Saigon, The Who’s Tommy, Smokey Joe’s Café, Ragtime and The Color Purple, which led to his milestone achievements, leading the cast of Disney’s The Lion King in the role of King Mufasa for 15 years and more than 4,000 performances. Not only will the audience have an opportunity to hear his story up close and personal, but they will have a chance to sample excerpts from his book and will be treated to a musical performance featuring selections from his CD, Disney My Way.
The ARTMakers series is a new program presented by HSA that features conversations with musicians, composers, actors, writers, dancers, choreographers, visual artists, producers and other creatives, who are invited to share their career journeys and process with the public.
