Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company

November 18, 2017 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

| $25

The Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company will celebrate its 45th anniversary with a program of works by the late Eleo Pomare and company artistic director Enrique DeJesus. By Pomare is his 1967 Las Desenamoradas (company premiere), set to music by John Coltrane and based on Lorca’s play “House of Bernada Alba.” DeJesus will show the world premiere of his “Mending Minds,” about caretakers, and asking the question “who will take care of the caretakers?” From the rep is Pomare’s brilliant leather/biker solo “Narcissus Rising,” originally danced by the choreographer and here performed by Donna Clark; his “Radeau” in which he depicts a stormy sea voyage to safety from strife-torn Haiti. Completing the program will be DeJesus’ clever “Evolution,” set to the irresistible sounds of Tito Puente. Saturday at 8 pm; Sunday at 3 pm at Ailey Citigroup Theater, 405 West 55 St. (at 9th Avenue)
