PRINCE was one of the most naturally gifted artists of all time. A consummate and flamboyant showman, prolific songwriter, producer, singer and virtuoso self-taught instrumentalist, you could say that he was born with music in his blood as his mother was the singer for his keyboardist father’s Minneapolis, Minnesota based jazz band. A true innovator whose music combined a variety of styles, including funk, rock, R&B, new wave, soul, psychedelia and pop. He sold over 100 million records and at one time had an astounding 100 million dollar recording and publishing contract. Honored with seven Grammy awards, an American Music Award, a BET Lifetime Achievement Award, an Academy Award (Oscar), a Golden Globe Award, two ASCAP Awards and had 40 hit singles in the Billboard Hot 100 Hits list including “When Doves Cry”, “Kiss”, “Let’s Go Crazy”, “Little Red Corvette” and “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World”. Inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2004) and the Grammy Hall of Fame (2010), Prince performed a dazzling rendition of “Purple Rain” during a literal down pour for the Super Bowl XLI Halftime Show (2007) and was featured in TIME Magazine’s 2010 100 Most Influential People in the World issue. Prince passed away in April, 2016, and will be remembered as an artist that inspired millions through his music.
THE PURPLE XPERIENCE is a tribute band hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota that was created when Doctor (Matt) Fink, Prince’s longtime keyboardist and member of his backing band The Revolution, teamed up with vocalist and front man Marshall Charloff in 2009. The band, which also consists of the “world renowned Princeologist” Cory Eischen on keys, Tracey Blake on guitars who was part of Prince’s 1990’s band New Power Generation, Ron Long on bass and Ron Caron on drums, has been touring around the country since 2011. The Purple Xperience embodies the spirit and sounds of Prince, with Charloff channeling the vocals and movements from the icon himself, leaving no one disappointed.
MARSHALL CHARLOFF, front man for The Purple Xperience imaginatively styles the magic of Prince’s talent with his appearance, vocal imitation and multi-instrumental capacity on guitar and piano. He not only bares an uncanny resemblance to the star, he also shares Prince’s vocal range.
