8th Annual Urban Education Symposium

November 3, 2015

Join us on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2015 for our 8th Annual Urban Education Symposium. The day-long symposium offers critical professional development for teaching staff and administrators in schools educating under-served students in urban areas. Workshops, speakers and panels are designed to provide concrete takeaways and best practices for all school community stakeholders — teachers, administrators, parent coordinators, community-based organizations, trustees and supporters — involved in the development of the whole child.

Panels and Workshops Will Include:

Integrating outside services into the school community
Positive youth development – collaborative problem solving and bringing youth to the table
Best practices for building community within standalone classrooms
Restorative justice: creating a positive response behavior management system
Making families central to the school community
Supporting teachers and strengthening school culture
Differentiation and the common core in high-needs classrooms
