On Saturday, May 20th and Sunday May 21st, between 10:00a.m. and 4:00 p.m., the Museum of American Armor will present World War II Encampment Weekend inside Old Bethpage Village Restoration, 1303 Round Swamp Road, Old Bethpage, where present operational tanks, halftracks, armored cars and artillery will operate with living historians to recall an era when our nation’s very freedoms were at risk.
World War II Encampment Weekend will challenge youngsters with mock field exercises while reenactors present uniforms, tactics and weapons of that era while an armor parade takes place that rivals the newsreels of 70 years ago.
Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for children (5-12), seniors (60+) handicapped, volunteer firefighters (firefighters need to show ID). A special admission fee of $5 will be offered to WW II veterans. A shuttle bus will be provided to those requiring transportation from the parking lot to the encampment site.
