Mayor de Blasio on Monday ordered a curfew in New York City to run from 11 p.m. Monday night through 5 a.m. Tuesday morning.

In an executive order released to hours after Gov. Cuomo and the mayor announced this order, de Blasio ordered that during the curfew hours, “no persons or vehicles may be in public.”

The order does not apply to “police officers, peace officers, firefighters, first responders and emergency medical technicians, individuals travelling [sic] to and from essential work and performing essential work, people experiencing homelessness and without access to a viable shelter, and individuals seeking medical treatment or medical supplies.”

Violating the order is a Class B misdemeanor.
