City Limits

CLARIFY’s summer interns (with colleagues from College Now at Lehman College) interviewing City Council candidates in 2017.

City Limits is currently accepting applications for its
CLARIFY (City Limits Accountability Reporting Initiative for Youth) internship program for the summer of 2018.

This is a paid, four-week internship for New York City high-school students that will cover the basics of investigative journalism. Interns will work closely with City Limits staff on special projects, with the goal of getting their work published on the site. Click here to read some of our previous interns’ work.

Applicants should live within New York City, and must have either already completed an internship with City Limits or have other previous journalism experience that makes them familiar with basic reporting and news writing.

Interns will be expected to work approximately 24 hours a week (six hours a day, four days per week). This will include meeting at City Limits’ offices in Harlem as well as attending field trips and reporting assignments in the field. Interns who perform successfully in the program will be paid a $960 stipend.

Start date: July 10
Meets: Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for four weeks ending August 3
Deadline to apply: June 1
