FYI: Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion released his proposal for developing the borough’s waterfront this morning, calling for “a mix of commercial, industrial, residential and recreational uses.” The proposal is based on the findings of an eight-month study by a task force representing community, government, business and environmental interests. Some of Carrion’s specific suggestions include increasing public access to the waterfront along the Harlem River, dredging Eastchester Bay and Westchester Creek, and removing the prison barge at Hunt’s Point. The task force is now set to try to work with city agencies to make the plans reality. [6/26/03]
