FYI: The City Council’s Committee on Government Operations voted to shove city agencies into the electronic age yesterday, unanimously approving a bill that would require all agency reports and publications be posted online within ten days of publication. The bill, slated to go before the full Council on January 8, would have the Department of Records and Information Services create a massive electronic library of the documents, kept somewhere on NYC.gov. The vote follows Mayor Bloomberg’s and Speaker Gifford Miller’s announcement two weeks ago that all mayoral press conferences and full Council meetings will soon be Webcast. [12/19/02]
