Look out Rudy, the state agency that sued the mayor for access to city records has just hired a lawyer. Kathleen Grimm, an adjunct professor at New York Law School, will start this week as deputy state comptroller for New York City. Grimm replaced Rosemary Scanlon who left last summer to take a teaching job in London.

Maggie Lear, the communications guru at the Administration for Children’s Services–a flack most reporters actually respect, and who happens to be the daughter of television producer Norman Lear–is reportedly resigning to spend more time All in the Family. No word yet on when her finale will be.

Bob Jaffe has traded in his lobbyist career at Malkin & Ross, where he championed child care, mental health and welfare issues, to focus on AIDS at Gay Men’s Health Crisis as director of New York State government relations.
