Human Resources Intern

The Center is currently seeking a Human Resources Intern will provide administrative support to the Director of Human Resources and Administration and assist with special HR projects as assigned.  The internship will give the intern the opportunity to work alongside HR and other office staff to gain “hands on” experience in Human Resources and office administration. Internships can be full time (40 hours per week, M-F, 10am – 6-pm) or part time (a minimum of 20 hours per week) and will be based from our office in New York, NY. The Intern will report to the Director of Human Resources and Administration.


Essential Functions:

  • Prepare new hire orientation packets;
  • Assist with maintenance of employee files;
  • Assist with recruitment and benefit related functions;
  • Provide administrative support to the Administration Department;
  • Participate and assist with special HR projects;
  • Attend Administrative team meetings as needed;
  • Other project as assigned.


Skills & Experience Required

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word);
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills;
  • General knowledge of human resource concepts and terminology;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality;
  • Ability to multitask;
  • Must be well organized, detailed oriented, and possess good follow-up skills;
  • Strong interest in Human Resources;
  • Must be available for a minimum of twenty (20) hours a week;
  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Human Resources or related field or; A graduate with a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Human Resources Management or related field;
  • Prior office experience preferred
