The Operas of Richard Strauss and Hugo von Hofmannsthal

The relationship between Richard Strauss and Hugo von Hofmannsthal was at times explosive, but proved to be one of the most successful musical collaborations in opera history.

EMPIRE OPERA presents

an evening of opera scenes from Arabella, Ariadne auf Naxos, Elektra, Die Frau ohne Schatten and Der Rosenkavalier, with a dramatization of the correspondence between the two creators of these works by guest artist, actor Michael Hajek.

Mark Cogley, music director for this event, will accompany Empire artists:

To cap the evening off, Empire will host a wine reception after the performance where you can meet and greet the artists.
