Luxuriate in an all Tchaikovsky program led by our favorite guest conductor from the Metropolitan Opera, Pierre Vallet, and featuring exciting young virtuoso Siwoo Kim in Tchaikovsky’s beloved Violin Concerto.

Dedicated to bringing fresh perspectives to the standard repertory and breathing life into the new, Siwoo Kim is an “incisive” and “compelling” (The New York Times) violinist who enjoys a blossoming career as soloist and chamber musician. As the winner of the 2011 Juilliard Violin Competition, he made his New York concerto debut at Carnegie Hall with James DePreist and the Juilliard Orchestra and has given numerous concerto performances throughout the US.

Acclaimed conductor Pierre Vallet is renowned throughout the world for his superb musicianship, which has led him to work regularly with the world’s foremost musicians and opera houses. He has been a member of the music staff of the Metropolitan Opera since 1996. Recent operatic engagements include Puccini’s Madama Butterfly and Gounod’s Faust at the Metropolitan Opera; Faust at the Gran Teatro del Liceu Barcelona; La Juive at the Goteborg Opera Sweden; Hansel and Gretel at the Saito Kinen Festival; Bartok’s Bluebeard’s Castle with Matthias Goerne and the Saito Kinen Festival Orchestra on its debut tour of China; and Madama Butterfly at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan.

$20 suggested donation; $10 students/seniors.
