Polyphony Quartet: Concert & Conversation

May 28, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The Polyphony Foundation will present an evening of classical music performed by a string quartet comprised of two Arab and two Jewish musicians from Israel. A brief discussion will be held with Nabeel Abboud-Ashkar and Reverend Galen Guengerich about the important work that Polyphony is doing in Israel, followed by a Q & A session with the audience.

More than 6,000 Arab and Jewish youth participate in Polyphony programs ranging from elementary school music appreciation classes and college level music seminars to semi-professional conservatories and an emerging orchestra of young professional musicians. The organization and the students involved demonstrate how the common language of music can help performers and audiences look beyond their differences to see the culture and humanity they share.
