McDonald’s B-Boy Royale, New York City’s largest annual breakdance tournament, returns this summer with eight award-winning crews from across the U.S. and Canada battling it out for a $5,000 grand prize and the 2017 championship title. McDonald’s B-Boy Royale 4 will take place on August 26 at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. Serving as this year’s lead judge will be breakdance legend Richard ‘Crazy Legs’ Colón, president of the iconic Rock Steady Crew.
In addition to the main competition, the event will celebrate the introduction of breaking as an official sport at the 2018 Youth Olympics by paying tribute to the street dance’s pioneers and its New York City roots. Surprise guests, music performances and the presentation of the 2017 McDonald’s B-Boy Royale Lifetime Achievement Award will also be featured.
All proceeds for McDonald’s B-Boy Royale 4 will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Tri-State Area, a non-profit organization that provides needed stability and resources to children and their families.
General admission tickets go on sale April 12, 2017 at 10 AM local time at the NYU Skirball Center or visit https://www.mcdonaldsnytristate.com/mcdonaldsbboyroyale/ for more information. Ticket prices are $22 for adults and $17 for children (12 and under) and seniors.
