Human Rights Shabbat with Speaker Matthew Reiss, speaking about how morality functions in the treatment of those in our own society; also, photos will be displayed of another society, North Korea and its societal challenges. Professor and Investigative Journalist Matthew Reiss has written for the Village Voice in New York, In These Times in Chicago, and Mother Jones in San Francisco using basic university economic analysis skills to evaluate American corporations. His coverage of New York’s black market for the New York Times was awarded a Davidoff Journalism Award. His efforts have produced distinguished works on the economic objectives behind the arts, sciences, health, labor and foreign policy. Friday, December 9, 7 PM: Service, Speaker, and Oneg Shabbat, conducted by Rabbi Jill Hausman and Cantorial Assistant Aron Bederson.
