Free Memorial Day Flatiron Walking Tour

May 28 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

| Free

This Memorial Day weekend, join Historian Miriam Berman on a free walking tour through the historic Flatiron District. Did you know that the Worth Monument served as the main welcoming and viewing site for U.S. Presidents and other important politicians to honor those who had lost their lives in the war? Did you know that Memorial Day was called ‘Decoration Day’ in the early 1900s? Our special tour, “From Decoration Day to Memorial Day”, will lead you to some of the city’s most notable landmarks, including the Flatiron Building, New York Life Insurance Building, MetLife Clock Tower, and Appellate Courthouse. Tours take place rain or shine every Sunday starting at 11:00 a.m., and meet at the southwest corner of Madison Square Park (in front of the William Seward statue) at 23rd Street and Broadway. No advance registration is required. Tours are provided by the Flatiron/23rd Street Partnership Business Improvement District (BID).
