A Diatessaron of New Music

On September 17th, 2016, the converted warehouse venue in Williamsburg, Standard Toykraft, will host a concert of new music featuring three gifted, young composers and an ensemble of elite performers. This concert will be the first of its kind by giving fresh faces in the music world an opportunity to showcase their talent, while continuing to study at institutions such as Juilliard and Mannes school. This concert will not only tap into the rich array of gifted musicians of New York City, but will also serve as a hub for learning about what various arts organizations have going on in the city. Representatives from literary magazines such as Prelude and The Opiate will be on hand selling and sharing their journals and zines. The concert program will also feature an extensive list of upcoming events from other concert series’ and venues, such as Project 142 and National Sawdust.
The award winning composers featured in this concert, Theophilus Chandler, Stanislav Fridman and Jared Miller, have composed one string quartet each to be performed by the Rhythm Method String Quartet. This all female supergroup who, between them, have performed all over the world, have an impressive resume spanning such prestigious institutions as NYU, Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music and Yale. Also on the program, a piece for violin and electronics performed by Mannes School Violinist Amos Lee.
