Plus, a special performance by the 14th Street Y’s own Silver Sirens, who will be cheering about health and wellness.

About the Instructors:
Celeste Rivera is an AFAA certified group fitness instructor, dancer and choreographer, who trained at Ballet Hispanico of New York for 15 years and performed with their student company throughout the NYC metro area. She received her B.A. from Barnard College of Columbia University in political science with a minor in dance and Latin American studies. Celeste currently teaches a variety of fitness classes, including Zumba, Tabata, and Barre at various sites throughout New York City. She firmly believes that music and movement speak for you when you don’t have the words and loves bringing that passion and energy to every class she teaches.
Robert Albanez was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and now living in one of the greatest cities in the world, NEW YORK! His love for Zumba first came when he took his first class but in reality he had just walked in to a huge party. “I related to it because of my background in dance and love for international music,” Robert says. Robert’s goal for each class is to give the students a time to remember filled with excitement, joy, and to experience a bit of the world we live in through music. Robert teaches at the 14th Street Y every Monday and Wednesday for an hour full of fun and rhythm! Oh and get ready to SWEAT!
Jennifer Herrera teaches Pilates and martial arts form classes. She loves all forms of fitness and believes that movement is medicine. She views exercise not only as a means to physical fitness, but an opportunity to increase mental discipline, set new goals, and get to the next level. In Jennifer’s classes, students are encouraged to work hard and have fun doing it!
About Sister Jane:
Sister is the operative word for this tavern, as the concept, design, and menu stem from the original Tavern on Jane, located for more than 21 years in the West Village. Tavern on Jane is the quintessential neighborhood restaurant bar where people have been gathering, socializing, and eating for many years. The Sister embraces the casual neighborhood friendliness with fresh food and cheer now in the East Village.
Come spend some time under our tin ceilings at our mahogany bar. Sip a cool glass of wine, sample one of our many single malt scotches, single barrel ryes or bourbons. Our selection or draft and craft beers will quench any and all thirsts. The friendly bar and wait staff will help you discover something new and exciting with several of our own original cocktails. Focused on fresh food, locally sourced and seasonally fresh, Sister will always prepare every item on our menu to order.
The event is generously sponsored by our friends Allied Universal, Gym Source and Jersey Paper.
Proceeds from the event benefit the fitness program of the 14th Street Y, a nonprofit organization providing fitness, wellness and much more to more than 20,000 people of all ages annually in downtown Manhattan.
