The district around Fordham Road in the West Bronx faced the highest number of housing threats.

Renters in the University Heights/Fordham area of the Bronx face the broadest spectrum of housing risks these days, according to the latest edition of the Association for Neighborhood and Housing Development’s run-down of affordable housing statistics.

No community district in the city has a lower average income than Bronx Community Board 5, and some 67.3 percent of residents there pay more than the recommended 30 percent of income toward rent. The area also has a high rate of overcrowding and was responsible for sending substantial numbers of cases to housing court and families to homeless shelters.

When ANHD tallied up how many different housing risks each district faced, Board 5 topped the city with 28. The top six districts for housing risks were all in the Bronx.
