The summer is in full-swing and the Bronx is celebrating! Here are the hottest Bronx events coming up this weekend.

Summer Shake Up! With The Public Theater
Saturday, July 10, 2010
10 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
The Crotona Park Amphitheater (in Crotona Park)
Experience the backstage workings of a major American theater company and participate in an exciting dramatic encounter with Shakespeare led by The Public’s teaching artists. Geared for students entering 6th grade and up, participants will investigate Shakespeare’s text through games and improvisations and even have the opportunity to perform on stage! Individuals, groups and classes are welcome to register for this special one-day event. Summer Shake Up is free, and is open to students in New York City. The event takes place Saturday July 10th. Check in begins at 10:00 a.m. Please dress comfortably with appropriate shoes and bring sunscreen!

Shakespeare workshops and performances take place from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the Amphitheater of Crotona Park in the Bronx. The entrance is located at Crotona Park East and Charlotte Street next to Indian Lake. Parents and guardians are welcome to take part of the workshop. Admission is free.
