FYI: Chief Judge Judith S. Kaye has formed a new commission to determine how the New York State court system can open case information to the Internet without compromising privacy. Noted First Amendment lawyer Floyd Abrams will chair the 22-member panel, the latest in Chief Judge Kaye’s attempts to improve the state’s court system, including a new jury selection process and the introduction of “problem-solving” courts for crimes such as domestic violence and drug arrests. 5/3/02
